We’re proud to provide our customers with some of the highest-quality point-and-shoot film cameras available on the market.

We love giving old film cameras a second life, but it’s important to note that these are vintage items, often over 25 years old. While each unit is hand-picked, tested and described accurately at the time of sale, these items are well beyond the typical lifespan expected of digital equipment.

Due to their age, there is an increased risk of component failure, including potential issues with general functionality, power, sensors, and overall reliability. For this reason, our film cameras come with a 30-day warranty, in addition to any applicable protections under Australian Consumer Law.

The 30-day warranty provides you with an opportunity to test your camera and report any faults early. After this period, the purchase is no longer covered by our store warranty. After the 30-day warranty period, we may still be able to assist on a goodwill basis with discounted replacement options where appropriate. Any support offered beyond the warranty period is at our discretion.

Under Australian Consumer Law, additional protections may still apply in rare cases, but only where a fault is deemed significant and genuinely unexpected for a product of this age and condition.

These cameras are best suited for casual and recreational film photography. If you are seeking a tool for ongoing, professional-level reliability, please consider this carefully. We are here to help and want you to feel confident in your purchase, whilst also informing our customers about the unique nature of buying well-loved, decades-old gear.

By purchasing from The 35mm Club, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please review our warranty terms and conditions carefully.

For warranty claims for film cameras:

The 30-day warranty covers mechanical and electronic defects that may arise with your film camera after the purchase date. Your warranty period begins from the arrival date of your order. Our warranty covers the following:

  • Shutter issues.
  • Flash issues.
  • Zoom issues.
  • Film advancing/rewinding issues.
  • Camera focus issues.
  • Electrical faults.
  • Confirmed light leaks affecting image quality

We will be unable to accept a warranty claim on the following:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Cosmetic flaws.
  • Damages/issues caused by your misuse.
  • Claims made outside the 30-day warranty period.
  • A customer changes their mind about their purchase after an order has been dispatched.
  • Unauthorised attempts to repair your film camera.
  • The substitution of expendable items (batteries, 35mm film etc).
  • Film cameras that are not purchased through our store.

Change of Mind Returns (Goodwill Only):

We do not offer change-of-mind returns as part of our formal policy. In certain cases, at our discretion, we may agree to accept a return as a gesture of goodwill. If a change-of-mind return is approved, the item must be returned in the same condition it was sent, unused, and complete with all accessories. Return shipping costs and payment processing fees will apply. Approval of change-of-mind requests is not guaranteed.

Warranty & Returns for 'Grade 6 - Fair' Film Cameras:

'Grade 6 - Fair' film cameras may display cosmetic wear or functional quirks. These can include scuffs, scratches, haze, slightly stiff switches, or other operational irregularities that do not prevent the camera from functioning as intended. Such quirks are not considered defects in this case. All core functions have been tested to ensure the camera is fully operational and ready to shoot. Please review the “Condition & Notes” section on each product page for full details. Returns will not be accepted for issues explicitly listed in the Condition & Notes section, but any other undisclosed problems or defects will be considered for return in line with our standard policy.

For warranty claims for other products (accessories, batteries, 35mm film):

The 30-day warranty covers defective products after the purchase date. Your warranty period begins from the arrival date of your order.

We will be unable to accept a warranty claim on the following:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Cosmetic flaws.
  • Damages/issues caused by your misuse.
  • Claims made outside the 30-day warranty period.
  • A customer changes their mind about their purchase after an order has been dispatched.
  • The substitution of expendable items (for example, a refund on 35mm film after it has been used).
  • Product not purchased through our store.
  • Refunds on gift cards and extended warranty.

This warranty holds validity exclusively for products acquired from The 35mm Club. Please be aware that items purchased during sales may be excluded from this warranty. This warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser and will be null and void if claims are made by other parties.

The 35mm Club Film Camera Extended Warranty:

The 35mm Club is proud to announce that we have launched our 35mm Film Camera Extended Warranty! This extended warranty can be purchased through our store, and will provide extra coverage for our film cameras beyond our free 30-day warranty period.

This Extended Warranty is only applicable to 35mm film cameras purchased through The 35mm Club. The extended warranty can only be purchased at the time of your film camera order, and cannot be purchased after the fact (unless you are repurchasing coverage on a replacement camera).

It is non-refundable and non-transferable, meaning the original purchaser must make any claim. Claims from others will render the warranty null and void.

Our extended warranty coverage begins after our free 30-day warranty period ends, (which starts from your order’s arrival date). If a claim is made, we will provide a like-for-like replacement or the closest equivalent available, which may vary in cosmetic condition. If the same model is unavailable, we will offer alternative camera options.

The extended warranty does not reset after a claim is made. Instead, the replacement camera will come with our standard 30-day warranty. If you wish to extend coverage on your replacement camera, we will instruct you to repurchase the extended warranty.

Cancellations/change of mind before an order has been dispatched:

Please note, for all products sold through our store, the customer may contact us requesting to cancel their order before it has been dispatched (12- 24 hrs processing time before an order is dispatched). However, charges will apply for payment processing fees. 

Making a claim:

To begin a warranty claim, please click here and follow the following process:

  • Log in to your account:
    • In the Email field, enter your email address, and then click Continue.
    • In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
    • Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.
  • Click the order that you want to submit the return for.
  • If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
  • Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
  • Click Request return.

To assist with your claim, The 35mm Club team may request more information regarding:

  • As much detail as possible explaining the issue you are experiencing.
  • Photos/videos highlighting the issue that you are experiencing.

The 35mm Club team will contact you to assess whether you have grounds for a warranty claim. If a claim is approved, our primary course of action will be to provide a like-for-like replacement or the closest available equivalent, which may differ in cosmetic condition. Where the same model is unavailable, we may, at our discretion, offer an alternative product of comparable value. In certain cases, we reserve the right to instead provide a repair or refund. If your return request is approved and requires shipping, our team will advise you of the next steps. For customers within Australia, return shipping is provided at no cost. Customers outside of Australia are responsible for return shipping costs. A replacement or refund will only be issued once the returned product has been received and assessed by our team.

For claims made for orders lost/damaged/stolen via shipping carrier (Australia Post):

At The 35mm Club, we take great care in packaging your orders. To protect your purchases, our store offers optional Australia Post shipping insurance. If your order is lost, damaged, or stolen, you will receive monetary compensation equal to your order value. This optional shipping insurance can be toggled on before placing an order at checkout. 

If you choose not to add shipping insurance and your order is lost, damaged, or stolen, we regret to inform you that The 35mm Club and our shipping carrier, Australia Post, will be unable to assist with any compensation claims.

However, if you do opt-in for shipping insurance and your order is lost, damaged or stolen, to receive compensation, you will need to contact our shipping carrier, Australia Post to initiate a resolution/claim. To contact Australia Post, please click here. During this process, The 35mm Club team will be happy to assist you with your claim with Australia Post. Please advise that once your order has been handed over to Australia Post, we consider our responsibility to be fulfilled. We advise that for peace of mind, you opt in to this service.

Conclusion:

By making a purchase from us, you agree to the following terms and conditions of this warranty. Any disagreements or disputes arising from this warranty policy will be governed by the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law.
