*JUST SERVICED & FILM TESTED*

Looking for an iconic, do-it-all 35mm SLR that makes the jump from point-and-shoot to full manual control easy? The Canon AE-1 Program is one of the most famous 35mm film cameras ever made - a classic camera that debuted in 1981 that introduced a whole generation to serious 35mm film photography with its simple, do-it-all Program mode. Paired here with the much-loved Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens, this kit is a brilliant, ready-to-shoot setup for anyone exploring 35mm SLR film photography.

✔ Program AE for effortless shooting – Switch to Program AE mode and the AE-1 Program automatically sets both shutter speed and aperture for you, so you can focus on framing your shot rather than fiddling with settings - ideal for anyone new to 35mm SLR cameras.

✔ Shutter-priority & manual control when you want it – Switch to shutter-priority AE or full manual mode and take creative control over depth of field and motion, all viewable through the bright, easy-to-read viewfinder with LED readouts.

✔ Sharp, fast FD 50mm f/1.8 lens – This kit includes the legendary Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens, a compact, versatile "nifty fifty" prized for its natural field of view, smooth background blur and reliably sharp results on 35mm film - perfect for portraits, street photography and everyday shooting.

✔ Durable, all-metal SLR build – Built around a rugged metal chassis with an electromagnetically-controlled cloth shutter, the AE-1 Program was designed to be a workhorse.

✔ Interchangeable FD lens mount – Beyond the included 50mm lens, the Canon FD mount opens the door to a huge and affordable range of vintage lenses, so you can keep building your kit as your photography grows.

✔ Comfortable grip & intuitive layout – A moulded right-hand grip and straightforward top-plate controls make this a genuinely easy vintage camera to pick up and shoot, even if it's your first 35mm SLR.

The Canon AE-1 Program remains one of the most beloved vintage SLR cameras in film photography for good reason - simple enough for beginners, capable enough for enthusiasts, and paired here with the FD 50mm f/1.8 lens, it's ready to shoot from the moment it arrives. A brilliant way to start (or continue) your journey with a 35mm SLR.

Battery Requirement – This reusable film camera operates with 1x 4LR44 6V battery (sold separately).

  • Grade 9 – Excellent: Lightly used, faint scuffs, fully functional, clean lens.
  • Grade 8 – Great: Normal signs of use, minor surface marks, fully functional.
  • Grade 7 – Good: Well-loved with visible wear or small quirks, but everything works as it should.
  • Grade 6 – Fair: Heavier wear and noticeable imperfections. It may also have minor functional quirks or imperfections, but it is fully functional and full of character.

Usability

Usability: This iconic 35mm SLR is a genuine step up from a point-and-shoot without the steep learning curve -Program AE handles the exposure automatically, while shutter-priority and manual modes are there once you're ready to take more creative control. The included FD 50mm f/1.8 lens is a versatile, sharp everyday lens that's ideal for portraits and general shooting.

Beginner Friendly?: Yes - the AE-1 Program was designed from the ground up to be an approachable, do-it-all SLR for first-time film shooters, and it remains one of the most recommended "first SLR" cameras in film photography today.
